Sri Lankan Women’s cricket team arrived on Thursday to play three T20I and ODIs against team green. The first match will take place on May 24, 2022. The second T20I will be held consecutively after two days, 26 and 28. This will be the first series of women in green since West Indies was hosted in Dec 2018. All the SOPs were taken into consideration and covid tests were taken before arriving here in Pakistan. All the matches will be hosted at Southend Club Ground.
Chamari Athapaththu will lead from Sri Lanka whereas Bismah Maroof will lead team Pakistan. The ODIs will be held on the 1, 3, and 5 of June on the same ground in Karachi. According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), both teams will practice on 21-23 May at the series venue.
After the series, the Pakistan team will leave for Ireland for the T20 triangular series. Then the team will move to Birmingham for Commonwealth Games will be held from July 28 to August 8. Pakistani players have been going through intensive training at Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre for a few days.
